Even though the Library was closed for two full days and an evening in December during the installation of a new furnace, the circulation shows an increase of over a thousand this year, and many new names have been added to the Borrower List.

A District Meeting was held in June at the Davis Library in Exeter. A tour of the Academy buildings, a talk on contemporary manuscripts and a Description of the bookmobile service with pictures taken along the route were the outstanding features of the session.

The Book Week Poster, “Books Build Character," was displayed on the Juvenile Bulletin Board. Books have been borrowed for patrons from the State Library at Concord and from neighboring libraries.

The following periodicals are in the Library: American Magazine, American Boy, American Girl, American Legion and Auxiliary Magazines, Atlantic Monthly, Baseball, Bird Lore, Child Life, Children’s Activities, Christian Century, Commentator, Consumers’ Union, Current History, Exeter News-Letter, Flower Grower, Ford News, Fortune, Good Housekeeping, Hampton Union, House and Garden, Hygeia, Jack and Jill, Ladies Home Journal, Mercury, Nation, National Geographic, News Week, Parents Magazine, Parent-Teachers Magazine, Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, Readers Digest, Roscicrusian, Rural New Yorker, Saturday Evening Post, Scientific American, Specialty Salesman, Telephone Topics, Time, Union Signal, Wall Street, Woman’s Home Companion, and the Yankee.
