Fitness Revolution, a fitness center specializing in group training sessions and workout opportunities, officially closed the doors to its 845 Lafayette Road gym Monday night.

A sign posted on the business' front door Monday stated Fitness Revolution has "closed" and "gone out of business." Messages posted on Fitness Revolution's Facebook page also indicated the physical facility no longer exists.

Fitness Revolution President Oliver Cuell explained the closure and change in a letter posted to his business' front door, stating that the traditional "'bricks-and-mortar' gym/sweatshop experience" is "outdated" and "falls short of affording... members all the exact tools they need to lead healthy and fit lifestyles."

"As such, we will no long have use for, or can afford and justify the costs associated with, maintaining the facility at 845 Lafayette Road," wrote Cuell, also stating that he was "excited" to announce the changes and apologized that they came without advance notice and so abruptly, due in part because the gym's lease was up.

The business will still reportedly provide personal training to local residents and is in the process of taking care of members displaced by the fact that they no longer have a gym in which to work out. This message on Fitness Revolution's Facebook page further explains the changes and how members will be helped:

Fitness Revolution is moving to take the lead in personal fitness and training. We are taking a page from professional sports: mobile, personalized, one-on-one and small-group training direct-to-you. Our personal training service provides convenient training, where you want, when you want. Train at your home, workplace, local parks or even beaches.

As a Reminder, due to our new direction, Fitness Revolution's Hampton, NH facility at 845 Lafayette Road is closed indefinitely as of 5:00 a.m. Monday May 6, 2013. We will be working with local gyms to work out a deal for our existing members and will notify all members directly and through this portal when we have found a facility that meets our high standards of excellence to merit a recommendation.
