This season introduced leading lady Katherine Helmond to Hampton audiences as well as popular and talented Ian Sullivan, both of whom would be members of the company for some seasons to come. Katherine of course has gone onto become a TV favorite in such shows as SOAP and WHO's THE BOSS as well as countless TV movies.
Ian has done many many shows in and out of NY ... favorites being MAN OF LA MANCHA, Henry Higgins in MY FAIR LADY and countless productions as Tevya in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF both at Hampton and throughout the country.

THE BOYFRIEND was a wonderful production but Hampton audiences didn't accept it as a spoof and therefore business was not good. John Vari sang and danced as Tony; Sue Hesse, a lovely young apprentice shone in the Julie Andrews role, and Katherine Helmond (really a non-singer) did a hilarious song and dance in a wild red fringe dress that literally stopped the show. Ian Sullivan was a delight in the second juvenile song and dance role.

Company members and performers this season included Freddie Hoskins, Ed Witherell, Bob Jeffords, Kay Vance, Gary Vari, Pegeen Lawrence, Bob Green, and Mike Arquette, son of TV's popular Charlie Weaver. Walk ons for SUSIE WONG were Betty and Carl Bock once again ... now seasoned performers. Ralph Barbagallo, Jr. was drummer and Kay Vance was in charge of public relations.
